I also ran into a homeschooling mom at the bagel shop at the same time. I have spotted her doing the same lesson about six months ago with the same child. She did not know what she was doing and it was on a Sunday, the Christian day of rest. It was with the same card she had in front of her. I wanted to call Protective Services. What a sicko. I stared at her and those demostrating people in front of church, who were later asked to leave the parking lot after they were bothering other people and telling them they weren’t Catholic enough .

A word of warning: DON’T COME AND do this in Florida. Both were reported.

The boy or her son looked liked he was in grade four and was given a lesson (I have a M.S. in Education) that was grade one level. What a hoax.

What does this picture tell you? My doctor has had this "processed food" on her counter ever since 2010 and 2011 respectively. I asked her why she had it out, she stated "to show people what they are putting into their bodies". This is man-made "processed food", not real food. Over time real food will decay, grow mold and produce a decomposing odor. This "processed food" has not done any of that, matter of fact it has kept it's original size, shape and texture. Your body has to work harder to breakdown and digest this stuff over real food. Since I've seen this, I have not had any fast food. #tyingtolivebetterin2012

We fight with each other too, but we get back up again and move on past the superficial houses and paying off Suburbans. We think most of you live in EXCESS AND BOAST ABOUT HOW SUPER DUPPER Catholic you are. Sorry but you are not. We laugh at you because before you did your marital deed, you didn’t think ahead. Just because you are open to life and your repo cells work doesn’t mean that the rest of you thought or think about what you do.

People with IF issues like us who have gone without kids for 14 years and not whined about it like you all when you can’t get PG after only 1 to 2 years think that most MOST OF YOU NEED TO GROW UP AND BURN YOUR BABY ON BOARD SIGNS YOUR OVER IDEALISTIC OVER PROTECTIVE CELL PHONE PARENTS WHO PAID FOR everything put on their cars.

How does one go about discussing financial issues when husband/wife are not in agreement? We took the Dave Ramsey “Financial Peace Univ” meeting, and we have been on the cash system, about which I am very excited!
Then, my husband says that he has been e-mailing a real estate person about a house where *he* wants to retire…across from a great church, but smack dab in the middle of town. It’s fine, I suppose—a 1 story over basement, but there is almost no yard, and traffic will be pretty bad I imagine. With our 5 kids, and dog, I really don’t see how this is the ideal. Besides, he doesn’t retire for another 7 years! I am trying really hard not to be worldly about the house he “picked”. I mean, I guess it’s fine, but it isn’t anywhere I would care to retire. I have been blessed to be out on 5 acres, in a beautiful little house overlooking mountains and trees and it is very tranquil, safe and lovely area. Moving into a one-story home on a tiny lot would NOT be my first choice. He is stressed about the economy, and with Obama having “a billion dollars to get re-elected” he thinks we should buy this house while the interest rates are low otherwise chance not having anywhere to move…..when the government folds…

I have been trying to budget better, and need to get shoes for two kids, underthings for the older two, and a haircut for the middle two (I trim everyone else, it’s just these two have fancier/more detailed cuts than I can do well) and he simply says, “Well, we will do what we can do, all of the overtime is going to the house”...
I said very sweetly, that I would support this only if I have money for the basics, and wouldn’t be signing anything about putting an offer in until we have discussed it and decided where the money is going. He simply said he would “sign FOR me”....
So, I guess now I am angry about it. How dare he say he is going to sign for me! And how is it possible to buy a house 350 miles away when I can’t even *afford* shoes and bras and haircuts? The earnest money alone is 1000 dollars…and he has been working overtime to get it pulled together for the house, but not for the family? I really don’t get it!
Tried talking to our parish priest a few months ago about some other issues in our marriage, but he is young and doesn’t have experience that is helpful….plus he is too busy to mess with this kind of stuff, the parish is huge and it’s his job to bring us the sacraments…I understand.

Any thoughts?

I have a right to be upset. The Franciscan Friars TOR, the guys who own and run my Alma Mater, Franciscan University support Rick Santorum, that GOP Presidential candidate who they say is . is soooo pro life, he would rather see people die than mandate the insurance companies pay their their medical bills. This is after years and years of paying into a company. Most insurance deductibles are 30K or more, which means that they are not going to pay for you even after you pay your premiums.

Santorum is for that. And the TOR FRIARS ARE FOR SANTORUM.

How much did he pay you guys??? Or how large was the donation? But hey .... the TOR friars gave the low life the Poverello award....Are you stinkin NUTS?????

When they did that this past year, I call President Fr Terry up and got his voice mail and yelled a message into the phone.

"ARe you nuts?" I was furious

I know he is going to loose. I am praying that HE DOES LOOSE.

They should have given the uninsured that award and then paY

Standing by your man is right. I would like to ask for some prayers that I have been refraining from asking too many outside my circle. I would like prayers for my marriage. We’re in a season where I am SO grateful for the sacramental graces, and the true belief in the vows we made. If we had made more worldly vows - I think most of us and our marriages would be like those in Hollywood - fleeting and fast.

I would have never thought I would need prayers for my marriage. Up until September we were fine. But then, things fell apart. I learned (of course though he did it to protect us, and shield me from pain!!) we lost our house - 3 days before we had to move out of it. The foreclosure process had gone on 2-3 years without me knowing (when I did notice something - he could easily explain it away). That month revealed to me that while I KNOW he did these things under the huge weight of being a provider and fear of failure, I obviously lost a chunk of the trust and foundation of our marriage. With the house lost was also learning of 5 additional credit cards I never knew we had (we NEVER used cards, only debit or cash - I thought). Cards he used to help me stay home as a homeschooling mom. So now we have $20,000 to pay back - and his credit is ruined, and since I was on the deed too, my credit has tanked.

I’ll wrap this story up (though I am blogging about it the last few months) with saying I know we will make it. That is the blessing of our faith, the blessing of the sacraments. It is simply GETTING there that is overwhelming, depressing, and yet at times - joyful. I am asking for prayers for peace, reconciliation, and the prayers as we now tackle the finances together, get marriage counseling, and learn to fully forgive. This will be a blip on our screen (I pray) one day. I know God takes anything and redeems it. So, I’m not saying “Why Us?” but “Why not us?”. He has been there every step.

Thank you ladies. Sorry it has taken such time to ask for more public prayers. Praying for you all!!!

Prayers for your common sense and the ability to get rid of your naivete. You have a lot of that. If you ban this I am going to read it on Ramsey live. What not to do. Do not live above your means and get thee to a counselor.
